"Two
of Yngves works became political & cultural events,
where he wanted to create optimistic and positive mood in
the eclipsed discussions about refugees.
Works originated from personal engagement with foreigners,
when he as project manager for Danish Refugee Council developed
an allotment project.
Work
“Small transformations” (Små forandringer)
was created for an exhibition “Meat the Dane”,
Toldboden in Kerteminde, 2001.
It is a photo of a refugee/foreigner picking an apple in
a Danish allotment. The small transformations in the computer-configured
photo in different colors (again repetition and serials
are used) can give reflections of the Fall of Man myth in
a new political context.
Another
work “Madre Mediterranea” was created for an
exhibition in Helligåndskirken in Copenhagen –
“We all are born under the same sun” –
a multinational exhibition with refugee artists.
A positive mood was formed by handful soil and plant fiber.
Soil gets lightness and paper heaviness, and expresses a
vivacious red field of serially exposed breasts. So much
life in a field with so few resources!"
